Doug Bear joined Peoples Company in 2019 and is involved with the facilitation of land auctions and land brokerage. Doug differentiates himself by his keen attention to details, providing comprehensive follow through for clients, and executing on the results they deserve. He directs his passion of production agriculture by creating opportunities for clients in the land industry. Doug is currently licensed to sell real estate in Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska. Recently, he obtained the coveted Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation during summer 2024 from the Realtors Land Institute (RLI) Board of Directors. This designation is only shared with 700 other licensed real estate professionals across the country.

A native of Russell, Iowa, Doug grew up on a small cow/calf operation and attended Iowa State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science (2007) and Master of Science (2011) in Animal Science. During graduate school, Doug evaluated Iowa’s water quality impairments within the Rathbun Lake watershed.

Doug previously served as the Director of Industry Relations for over seven years at the Iowa Beef Industry Council in Ames, Iowa. He was responsible for coordinating producer communication and beef checkoff compliance activities, strategic planning of producer investments and fiscal year budgets, and building nationally recognized beef checkoff programs (Beef Quality Assurance). He is an experienced team-builder and focused on achieving result-oriented outcomes.
