I was raised in the Rio Grande Valley near Harlingen, TX. I graduated from SMU in 1975 and upon graduation, I began my banking career in Mexico City, where I became proficient with the language and culture of Mexico. Before returning to the Rio Grande Valley, I worked for the OCC as a bank examiner in Oklahoma for 2 years. Then I settled into a 23 year banking career in the Valley as owner-operator of several small family-owned banks, which dealt predominantly in agriculture and real estate. My family and I moved to Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country in 1998 after retiring from banking. My real estate career started in 2004 with a broker in Llano, TX, specializing in ranches. In 2010, Jones Ranch Realty was established, specializing in ranch and rural properties, including homes on acreage.
