I was raised in the Rio Grande Valley near Harlingen, TX. I graduated from SMU in 1975 and upon graduation, I began my banking career in Mexico City, where I became proficient with the language and culture of Mexico. Before returning to the Rio Grande Valley, I worked for the OCC as a bank examiner in Oklahoma for 2 years. Then I settled into a 23 year banking career in the Valley as owner-operator of several small family-owned banks, which dealt predominantly in agriculture and real estate.
My family and I moved to Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country in 1998 after retiring from banking. My real estate career started in 2004 with a broker in Llano, TX, specializing in ranches. In 2010, Jones Ranch Realty was established, specializing in ranch and rural properties, including homes on acreage. My expertise in rural properties is based on an understanding of the real estate market, extensive knowledge of real estate transactions & closing, access issues, water, surveys, easements and topographical characteristics of the land.
Due to my background in finance, I understand and work with many local financial institutions that help close the sale. My skills in contract negotiation and conflict resolution are important to bringing a transaction to fruition. I also follow up and make myself available after the sale for questions, recommendations, referrals for farm & ranch improvements, ag & wildlife exemptions, and any general advice.
Customer satisfaction is my chief goal. Understanding the details of the purchase and insuring that my client has been well represented are of utmost importance. I will be accessible and respond quickly to my clients needs and questions.
