The concrete Pilasters extend vertically from the bottom of the footings to the very top of the main floor where the roof is attached. After the installation of the roof, over the house and Pilasters were completed, the perfect “Passive   Solar” result was created because the Wellhouse faces South and the sunshine easily enters the home’s windows in the cold months, but cannot during the warmer months. 3). The South-side Pilasters provide even more protection, as they will also stop flying debris from Southwest Hurricane/Tornado-force winds. Novomesh 700 fiber was blended into the concrete before it was poured to increase its strength. A high-range water reducer was also used in the concrete to maximize its flow into the insulated concrete forms. This combination yielded an actual compressive strength in the walls exceeding 4,500 psi. Novomesh 950 was used in both the lower and main level concrete floors.
