At 21 years old, I went into a partnership with my dad and we built and opened a beer bar and restaurant called the Suds Hut. I owned that from 1968 thru 1981. During that time I also had an outfitting and guiding business taking hunters into the mountains for a week at a time. When I sold the bar, I went into the excavating business and subdividing of property which, of course, lead to the real estate in 1982 and I have been doing that ever since.
I have been a real estate broker since 1992 and have owned my own company all that time I have for 30 years specialized in farm and ranch sales, my largest single sale is 13 million and my largest sale to one client is 20 million.
Hobbies: I was a trap shooter for about 4 years and traveled into Canada and the western U.S. and, if I don’t say so myself, was pretty good. I also rodeoed as a “bulldogger “ [ steer wrestling] for about 8 years. Shooting is my main hobby though along with horse and mule packing into the backcountry. I used to ride snowmobiles a lot but now enjoy riding side by side 4 wheelers.

About Steve – Steve Bilicek was raised on his family farm and ranch on the Upper Gulf Coast of Texas. I grew up in Lake Roberts, New Mexico, a small town where the main source of income was cattle ranches, Forest Service, hunting services and mining. At a young age, I worked for the neighboring ranches and guided hunters. I also worked for the Forest Service as a wild land fire fighter and when wild land fire season was at an end, I ran a string of pack horses/mules for them. These jobs gave me an understanding of range management and the dynamics of ranch properties.
I attended New Mexico State University where I took some range, animal science, and real estate classes. Then I had an opportunity to go into partnership on a 54,000 acres ranch lease from the Jicarilla Apache Indian Reservation. My partner and I ran 2000 head of steers which came from Parker, Hawaii. Shortly after that, I married my high school sweetheart, Shay, and moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado where I decided to train horses full time.
My horse training business led us to Grand Junction, Colorado where I began starting colts for a local rancher. We started a family with the birth of my son, Logan who now loves flying airplanes with his mom. I continued with the horse training business for 10 years and also worked for the Forest Service in fuel management.
I have been personally involved in investing in real estate and when the time was right, I jumped at the opportunity to become a real estate agent. I rely on my past experiences to help my clients with the challenges of identifying their needs and getting through the buying and selling process with ease.

It will put me over the top on all aspect of real estate, land development, transitional property, a deeper knowledge in 1031 Exchange opportunities for my investor clients, mineral rights and water rights just to know a few!
