With a lifelong passion for competitive equestrian events, I’ve built a career that allows me to combine deep personal experience with specialized professional knowledge. I focus on Farm and Ranch properties, Hobby Farms, and Equestrian Facilities—helping clients navigate the unique considerations that come with these types of properties. As a certified Equestrian Property Specialist, I bring not only real estate expertise but also a genuine understanding of the lifestyle, land use, and operational needs that matter most to equestrian and rural property owners.
My real estate journey began in 2004 in the lending industry, where I developed a strong foundation in the financial side of real estate transactions. In 2006, I launched a mobile notary business and became both a licensed real estate salesperson and a loan officer in California. Recognizing the importance of understanding every aspect of a transaction, I transitioned into escrow and title work in 2008, serving as a junior escrow officer and gaining invaluable hands-on experience. This comprehensive background gives me a well-rounded perspective that helps clients move through the buying or selling process with clarity and confidence.
After relocating to Colorado, I expanded my practice to reflect the needs of a growing and diverse client base. I earned certifications from the National Association of Realtors as a Military Relocation Professional (MRP) and an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), both of which underscore my commitment to service, adaptability, and expert representation.
In addition to my specialty in equestrian and rural properties, I actively study the ever-evolving regulations related to water and mineral rights—an essential component of land ownership in the West. My goal is to provide clients with the most accurate, current information possible, empowering them to make informed decisions that support long-term success.
At the core of my work is a passion for helping people build better financial futures for themselves and their families. Whether you're purchasing your first home, piece of land, expanding your agricultural operations, or selling a long-held property, I approach each client relationship with dedication, transparency, and a deep respect for the trust you place in me.
Edward has always been fascinated with architecture and architecture and Real Estate go together.
He loves to help people achieve their homeownership dream. No matter what their needs and wants in a home may be, he strives to get results. Together anything is possible.
Born and raised in Sonoma County, at the age of 18 Edward left to serve in the Military for several years with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Five. This is where his appreciation of architecture grew. After leaving the Military, Edward started a construction career as an interior finisher for 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. This background in construction has been very beneficial for his career in Real Estate.
Edward met his Broker and became fast friends right away. Keller Williams Realty provides him with the tools needed to grow his career with an ever-changing market, allowing him to help his clients achieve the dream of home ownership.
When recharging, Edward is a world traveler. When staying locally, he enjoys camping, hiking, swimming, nature, kayaking, and giving back to his community through service.
As a fifth-generation native to the Evant area, I have a deep-rooted love for this community and the surrounding area. I have been an active member in my community and have served on several boards throughout the years. Before beginning my career in real estate, I owned and operated a small business in town. In 1979 I earned my real estate license and four years later, after obtaining my broker's license, I opened Burks Real Estate. For the past 40 years I have had the pleasure of serving buyers and sellers in Evant, Gatesville, Hamilton, and the surrounding areas. During this time, I have not only gained extensive knowledge of the land and the Central Texas Real Estate market, but have also built good working relationships with lenders, escrow officers, appraisers, and fellow brokers/agents. I value the work that I do and enjoy helping clients through what can be a difficult time. I strive to always serve my clients with honesty and integrity. With my knowledge and experience I am sure that I can provide you with the resources and tools that you need to feel confident when buying or selling real estate.
When you’re buying a horse or farm property, you’re not just buying a home, you’re buying a great New Hampshire way of life. It is important that you use a real estate agent who is knowledgeable about the unique nature of these country properties and all that can be entailed. Many factors can come into play from zoning and permitted uses to easements, current use taxation and upcoming changes that may affect your intended use of the property.
We understand what you are looking for. We know that your Hanovarian Percheron won't fit in a low cattle barn, that the thick, rocky forest is not suitable for clearing for future pasture, and that the lawn around the house is not where you want to graze your goats or sheep. We understand limits on how much you can spend, how much time you may have to manage your property, and that you "must-have" certain features.
We can help make your move easier as we have all done it ourselves! As examples of how we differ from ordinary Realtors®, we have assisted with shipping horses and livestock coming and going, have found temporary farm rentals while folks were waiting for their new farm to be vacated, even found a place for mules to live for a few months until their owners could get here from the upper midwest. We mean it when we say that we are not your ordinary Realtors®. Read our many testimonials.
Please consider one of the specialty Realtors® of Farms & Barns. If you don't, while you’re out looking at an unsuitable property that perfect farm could slip away. Just tell us what you're looking for and if it's out there, we'll help you find it. We all hold the Certified Buyer Representative® designation.
