Lay Creek Ranch boasts over 3 miles of Lay Creek, highway frontage and power availability that runs the length of the ranch. With 2140 +/- deeded acres and over 1700 +/- acres of a BLM grazing allotment this ranch would make a great spring, summer and fall grazing operation. Land The land consists of sub irrigated bottoms along Lay Creek which rises into cedar draws along the way. The benches have been cleared in recent years to  increase the grass for livestock and wildlife.  With plenty of cover from the cedar covered draws and ridges this is excellent habitat for deer, elk and antelope.  The ranch is fenced along the allotment boundaries as well as cross fencing for rotational grazing. Lay Creek is a small dependable year round stream that feeds the Yampa River below. Recreation The ranch borders thousands of acres of public BLM lands for additional exploration. The Juniper Hot Springs is just a few miles away along with the Yampa River. There are several nearby public access points to the Yampa River for fishing and rafting.  The Sand Wash Basin, Browns park, Steamboat Springs and many other recreational attractions are within a short drive from the ranch. Located in unit 301 which coincides with Unit 3, the ranch qualifies for landowner deer and antelope why elk are over the counter for archery, 2nd and 3rd seasons. Location The Ranch is located just west of Craig, Colorado and just east of Maybell, Colorado bordering Highway 40 to the south. The Yampa River is less than 2 miles to the west and less than 1 mile to the south. The Yampa Valley regional airport is within 45 minutes from the ranch and Vernal, Utah is within 1 and 1/2 hours.
